Ethan and Adalyn – Sweet on You! {Lafayette Child Photographer}

Posted on January 27, 2011

I have to say, I have THE CUTEST niece and nephew in the world … really, I do!

My sister came for a visit this week to get the kids’ pictures taken, so we did some Sweet on You pictures.  I needed a boy model since mine wouldn’t cooperate and I’ve always thought Ethan looked like a little Gap model, so he was perfect.  And Adalyn, with her big dark eyes and dark curls … many people think she’s mine!  She actually looks JUST like my sister, though :-)

I know you all have “met” them before, but here’s a little re-introduction … This is Ethan, he’s 3 years old and I promise you, the most well-spoken, shockingly smart 3 year old you’ll ever meet.  He was speaking in full sentences by the time he was about 15 months, its crazy.  He sounds like a little man when he talks to you.  His teacher said that she just waits to hear whats going to come out of his mouth because he always makes her laugh.  He LOVES to hug and kiss little girls and often annoys Emelyn because he is always loving on her.  He has a girlfriend at school named Ella Flo.  Ethan also can have quite the attitude sometimes, but isn’t it precious when he does?

And this is Ms. Adalyn, 19  months … she looks like the sweetest little thing doesn’t she?   Don’t let her fool you!  You know the phrase “if looks could kill?”  … this baby girl has some “mean eyes!”   (She gets them from her mama!)   She really is very sweet, though, when she wants to be and Hayden just adores her!  She’s very feisty and holds her own among her 3 older cousins, you should see her push her big brother around!

Emily – Bridal Portraits {Houma Wedding Photographer}

Posted on January 27, 2011

Bridal portraits don’t always have to be in a traditional setting.  Most brides think about majestic oak trees, beautiful plantations or vintage bed and breakfasts, but that doesn’t always have to be the case.  Emily definitely thought outside of the box when planning her bridal portraits and it was such an enjoyable experience to work with a new and very unique location.  She was able to get permission to use a brand new office building in downtown Houma that had some really unique decor that fit perfectly with her and her personality.  Afterwards, we took some at a family friend’s home that was a bit more traditional, but both were different locations that no one else had used before.  Emily was married earlier this year and was such a fun bride!

Tara is one of my oldest friends – we’ve known each other since 8th grade and have been through SO much together!  I am so happy that she has found such a great guy in Rob and I’m honored to be shooting their City Park wedding this upcoming May!  Congrats you guys!
