Introducing …

Ms. Avery Christine, born March 21 … my newest, most perfect godchild and niece (and my namesake, well, sort of).   This is my sister’s newest baby girl who joins her gorgeous siblings, Ethan and Adalyn.  She’s absolute perfection and I loved snuggling her while doing her portraits at just 3 days old.  Its killing me that I can’t edit them all to show you now, but I have other clients in front of her that have to wait!  She’s named after her Grammy, who’s middle name is Christine, but so is mine … which is why she’s kind of, my namesake too :-)

Koby – 2011 Senior {Morgan City Senior Photographer}

You’d think after this session, I would have surely run right out and purchased some rubber boots … its still on my to-do list, but I’m definitely keeping a closer eye on where I walk!  A couple of weeks ago, all of the creatures at Brownell Tower were just waking up and starting to move around.  While walking on the path, I spotted a snake slither into the swamp … yuck.  So from then, I was more careful when walking around the swampy areas, I was pretty nervous about what we’d see!  Unfortunately, I wasn’t watching when walking in regular grass and came within an inch of stepping on a snake … I’m so glad (and shocked) that I didn’t scream and run off like a little girl, that really would have been embarrassing.  Instead, I just changed my course, pointed out the snake and we moved on :-)   There were also lots of beautiful yellow flowers all over the place, which we had to try and avoid … while very pretty, they didn’t really fit in with the camo and bow!

Devan – 2011 Senior {Morgan City Senior Photographer}

If you’ve ever been at a session with me in the late afternoon, you’ve probably heard me exclaim about “the light!”  I love being able to “see the light.”  Its something I didn’t notice before I started photography and now I see it everywhere!  I just love love love love love afternoon backlighting, there’s nothing like it and we had plenty of gorgeous lighting at this session!  Devan wanted to start out with some brick backgrounds, so we walked around a bit downtown, then we headed to a gorgeous property in Patterson.  It has a beautiful, huge oak tree in the backyard and was right on the bayou.  The front yard was amazing as well and we got some really beautiful shots!

Devan is stunning – I’ve been so lucky that all of my seniors are gorgeous, it makes my job effortless :-)   She plays tennis and volleyball, so of course, we included those in the shots!  Enjoy!
