Holly’s Bridals {Morgan City Wedding Photographer}

Posted on December 3, 2011

When I walked into the room where Holly had gotten dressed at The Dansereau House in Thibodaux, I think my jaw literally dropped.  Holly was standing there in one of the most stunning dresses I’ve seen and she looked gorgeous.  I was so excited when I saw the full tulle skirt and the ideas just started flowing!

Before a bridal session, especially if I’ve met the bride before and worked with her on engagements, I try to guess what type of dress she’ll choose and start to gather some ideas in my head.  I’ve been wanting to do a few full dress poses for a while, but I figured Holly would be more of a “fit and flare” type of girl and boy, I’m so glad I was wrong!  Holly is most definitely a PRINCESS gown type of girl and it fit her perfectly!  It was so much fun working with both Holly and the dress ;-)   Holly and Philip were married last night in Morgan City – congrats you guys!

Carin – Bridal Portraits {Morgan City Wedding Photographer}

After a couple of failed attempts to schedule portraits at another location, Carin was told about “The Governor’s Mansion” in Franklin.  I am always up for new locations and was excited to try it out.  For anyone else who plans to visit this place, whether it be for photos or just to check it out – its actually Oaklawn Manor.  Looking up the Governor’s Mansion on Google brings you to some neighborhood that doesn’t look anything like a mansion :-)   Thankfully, Carin rescued me by calling and giving me directions to where we were supposed to be.

This place is really beautiful, the property is gorgeous – huge, sprawling oak trees and pretty gazebos – and the house is a stately white home with huge white columns.  Everything you could ask for in a bridal portrait location!

Carin’s new husband, Jared, was stationed in Afghanistan for most of the last year, coming home just a few short weeks before their wedding.  She wanted to incorporate this into her session, so we did some fun things with his boots and jacket.  I love when I need to think outside of the box a little bit and incorporate some creative ideas into a shoot!  Congrats to Carina and Jared!

Love the camo shoes!
